Kristen Tulloch
Principal Teacher
Bachelor of Dance Education
Kristen began dancing at the young age of 3 where she studied Jazz, Tap, Modern and Hip Hop at Rooty Hill RSL School of Dance. During this time Kristen performed in the Australian dance Program and a variety of promotional gigs. After 10 years dancing at Rooty Hill RSL Kristen moved on to Donna Jeans Danceforce, for over 5 years Kristen danced under the guidance of Donna Holmes and studied various styles including Cecchetti Ballet, Glenn Wood Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Lyrical and Musical Theatre. While dancing at Donna Jeans Danceforce Kristen performed in a variety of shows and corporate gigs. Kristen continued her dance training all through high school and performed at number events including the Special Olympics, Sydney Kings, NRL spectacular and Catholic education competitions. Kristen continued her Dance training through years 11 and the HSC. In her HSC Kristen gained 1st in both the practical and theory side of Dance and gained a band 6 for dance gaining a call back for showcase. Continuing to train in dance Kristen audition successfully for a place in the Dance degree at the Australian Collage of Physical Education. During her time at uni Kristen became a mentor and ambassador for Captivate Commercial Dance which is a dance program developed by the Parramatta Catholic Education Office that offers children a variety of dance technique and performance opportunities. In 2012 Kristen took on the role of Principal teacher at Canley Heights RSL Jazz Ballet and returned back to the Youth Club scene where all her training began. In the 2 years as being principal at Canley Heights Kristen has helped develop the school to grow significantly in numbers, introduce structure and see them participate in a variety of performance opportunities including the Royal Easter Show, West Tigers Dance Spectacular and Western Suburb Cheerleaders. With the Assistance of Luke and Xiomara Kristen hopes to continue growing the school. Kristen completed her Dance Degree at the Australian Collage of Physical Education and is currently working for the Department of Education.
Luke Marsden
Bachelor of Dance Education
Luke has an extensive performing arts history that began with a Scholarship for Dance and Drama from years 7 – 12 at Ashcroft High School. It was here that Luke’s passion for dance saw him take part in the prestigious South West Sydney regional dance festival for over 3 years, Participation in the State Dance Festival and School Spectacular for several years. Luke gained a place in the Boys Dance ensemble which led to him auditioning for a spot at the Australian Collage of Physical Education Dance Degree. Upon entry to the Collage Luke joined the Australian Collage of Physical Education Dance Company. While performing with the dance company Luke participated in the City of Sydney Eisteddfod on the Full time dancers section and placed Highly Commended. The company saw Luke also Perform at Dance Life, a featured act at Carnival Sydney, Telstra Stadium and the Carols in the Domain. The company also had various other performances’ including graduation performances, Australian Dance Festival and annual year Show case. Luke studied under the guidance of Jess Taylor and formed a strong style in Jazz. Luke joined the Canley Heights RSL YC Jazz Ballet team in 2012 as a Jazz and Hip Hop teacher. In 2013 Luke introduced lyrical into the studio with great success. Luke’s works are dynamic, exciting and extremely different. In 2013 Luke completed his Dance Degree at the Australian Collage of Physical Education and is now working in High Schools across South West Sydney.
Xiomara Huezo
Bachelor of Education (Primary)
Xiomara began dancing at the age of 3 where she studied Jazz, Tap, Ballet and Contemporary. Xiomara studied at Dance It Performing Arts formally known as Sandra Fleeton Dance Company. Xiomara completed her tap exams up till advanced grade in Advanced of Ballet Australasia (BAL) and up to grade 8 in Ballet under the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD). Xiomara performed in a number of performances including Christmas shows at various Westfield locations and a variety of local community performances. Xiomara performed a number of Sydney King’s basketball games and other corporate shows. Xiomara has also studied a variety of other dance styles including Flamenco, Contemporary, Salsa, Columbia folk dancing, El Salvadorian Folk. Xiomara is also a former member of Canley Heights RSL Ballroom dancing where she studied Ballroom and competed in a number of competitions where she was extremely successful. In 2012 Xiomara completed her Bachelor of Primary Education with a minor in special education which she studied at the Australian Catholic University. In 2013 Xiomara joined Canley Heights RSL YC Jazz Ballet were she joined as a senior dancer and began to assist teaching the Tiny Tots and Babies. In 2014 Xiomara will be joining the teaching team at Canley Heights RSL YC Jazz Ballet teaching Tap and teaching the new Tiny Tots Preschool Program.
Madison Gray
Maddi has been dancing at Canley Heights RSL Youth Club Jazz Ballet for the past 13 years, during her time she has studied under various teachers taking classes in Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Hip Hop and Lyrical classes. In 2010 Maddi was chosen to represent Canley Heights RSL Youth Club and Australia on the reciprocal tour that saw her travel to New Zealand for ANZAC day celebrations. In 2013 Maddi started to assist teaching the tiny tots class and begin developing her teaching skills. In 2014 Maddi stepped up and took on the role of student teacher and assisted both Miss Xiomara and Miss Kristen with the Pre- Juniors and Junior classes, she also had the main role of ‘Jasmine’ in our entertainment piece. This year we see Maddi travelling to the USA recognising her talent and dedication to the arts. Maddi will also co- teach the new and developed Tiny – Tots this year.
